Our Team

When a business looks for help, it usually turns to a law firm, an economic advisor, or a strategy consultant. Most of them stop at the edge of their own discipline. Legal counsel tells you what the law permits and how to operate within it. Economic analysis tells you what the numbers say and where value can grow. Strategy consulting tells you what to change and how to fix it. Rarely do all three talk to each other, and almost never from the same place.

We work where they converge. We understand the law and trace its implications into your business model. We measure value and structure it into agreements and relationships that hold. We look at how your organization actually operates, where the gaps are, what is holding back its potential, and we build around that. Not a framework to present. A structure to build, one that is measurable, designed and implemented to your needs.

The goal is not a report. It is a business that runs cleaner and is more resilient, a contract or agreement that creates value for everyone involved, an operation that understands its own constraints well enough to move past them.

Law, economics, and operations are not three separate inputs. They are the same problem asked from different angles.

Gärtner | Economic & Legal Advisors

Felipe Gärtner J

Founder | Partner

Felipe trained as both an economist and a lawyer at Universidad de los Andes, with graduate work in quantitative economics at NYU. His career has been built at the intersection of those disciplines: market entry and regulatory strategy, health economics for pharmaceutical and medical device clients, and cross-border investment structuring across Latin America and Europe. He co-founded Caribou, backed by the European Space Agency. Based in Munich, he works with German and Latin American companies on corporate structuring, M&A, vesting, economic and impact evaluations, and the legal and tax frameworks governing German entities in LATAM. He is a certified appraiser registered with the RAA (Registro Abierto de Avaluadores) through ANA – Corporación Autorregulador Nacional de Avaluadores, authorising him to produce court-admissible economic valuations in Colombia. He leads the firm's European practice and is the first point of contact for clients approaching from Europe.

Alejandro Gärtner E

Partner

Over four decades, Alejandro has practiced at the point where Colombian commercial law meets its most demanding applications: fiduciary structures, investment vehicles, and transactions that required both legal precision and institutional credibility. He founded Gärtner Abogados & Consultores after serving as Vice President of Alianza Fiduciaria, one of Colombia's most significant fiduciary institutions. His work is not simply a record of cases. It is part of the architecture governing how Colombian fiduciary law functions today.

At Crepes & Waffles, Colombia's most recognized restaurant group, he led international and national brand expansion across Colombia, Panama, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Spain. Before that, he worked in international client operations at Aposentos and held senior roles at Schlumberger. When Santiago advises on strategy or AI transformation, he draws on experience running the complexity, not just studying it.

Gärtner | Economic & Legal Advisors

Andrés Gärtner J

Partner

Andrés graduated from Universidad Javeriana and holds a Masters in Law and Business (LBM) from Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, Germany. That combination shapes how he approaches transactional work: with the precision Colombian commercial practice demands and the fluency European counterparts expect. At FIDUCOLDEX, he structured and negotiated contracts for entrepreneurs operating under Colombia's INNPULSA government trust framework. He knows how deals get built and where they break.
